The caption explains: "Princess ELizabeth arrives with her father at Westminster Abbey in 1947 for her marriage to her third cousin, Lieutenant Philip Mountbatten. It was the high point of a grim year. The winter was the worst since 1881; rationing was more severe than during the war."
