Daniel Meadows and Martin Parr

Daniel Meadows and Martin Parr studied photography together at Manchester Polytechnic from 1970 to 1973 along with other distinguished photographers including Peter Fraser, Brian Griffin and Charlie Meecham. In 1972 during their summer holiday Meadows and Parr both worked at the Butlins Holiday Camp at Filey in Yorkshire. There the two photographers each had cameras and took their own photographs. However, the following year they decided to work collaboratively using a single tripod and camera to photograph the residents of June Stret in Salford Manchester, a jointly credited project in which who actually pressed the shutter had litle relevance.
